Family Friendly Wyre
Wyre has lots of things to see and do that are family friendly.
A visit to the seaside is a must for all ages. The coastline stretches from Cleveleys, through Rossall Point and its fabulous tower, on to Fleetwood and across the Wyre Estuary to Knott End and Pilling. There's plenty of fresh air to be had - make a sandcastle, try beachcombing or crabbing on Marine Lake (but please do remember to look after them and to chuck them back in!)
You could take the boat across to Knott End, play pitch and putt or play in the water fountains at Marine Gardens or play in the water jets and tunnels at Marine Splash. Don't forget to have an ice cream too, there's lots of great places to have some and all with a spectacular view.
There's plenty of family friendly attractions to entertain the kids, and the adults too. Visit one of the open farms, go to Old Holly Farm and see a working diary, visit Farmer Parrs Animal World, meet the rare breeds at Cobble Hey Farm and Gardens and enjoy their play areas and cafes.
The rural areas offer opportunities for outdoor fun for all the family. The Forest of Bowland (AONB) is great for walking and cycling, or take a stroll alongside the Lancaster Canal and take a boat trip with Lancaster Canal Cruises. Or maybe just enjoy a family picnic and take in the views of the hills, river or canal.
Visit Wyre Estuary Country Park, Stanah and take part in one of the family activities or explore one of the woodland trails.
If the weather is wet there's plenty to do, have a game of Ten Pin Bowling, if you feel really active try the Air Skate Park in Thornton or for the young ones take a trip to Thingamajigz or a explore the fascinating history at Fleetwood Museum. You could even finish your evening of with a visit to the movies.
