Wreck Trek 2026
Fleetwood RNLI is thrilled to bring back its iconic Wreck Trek—an unforgettable community challenge raising vital funds to help save lives at sea.
Last held in 2025, the event attracted more than 1,600 participants, and this year promises to be just as inspiring. Adventurers of all ages are invited to take on the 3.6 mile trek from Marina Hall, crossing the sands all the way out to the historic Wyre Light Lighthouse. This unique experience offers breathtaking views and a rare chance to walk a route usually claimed by the tide.
The Wreck Trek is open to everyone who can complete the walk unaided within three hours, making it a fantastic family activity. However, due to the challenging terrain and tidal conditions, the route is not accessible for wheelchair users.
Check‑in opens at 8:30am, with a mandatory safety briefing at 9:20am. Participants must arrive in good time—late arrivals cannot join once the briefing begins. The walk sets off promptly at 9:30am, and for safety reasons no one will be able to join the route after the group has departed.
Limited parking will be available at Marina Hall, but organisers encourage local participants to walk or use alternative transport where possible to reduce congestion.
With its mix of adventure, history and community spirit, the Fleetwood RNLI Wreck Trek is an event not to be missed. Lace up your boots and be part of something truly special!
