Now entering its fourth year, Wyre Council’s Big Green Get Together has become a much-loved annual event for families, nature lovers and anyone passionate about appreciating and protecting the environment.

Families are invited to Wyre Estuary Country Park, Stanah on Saturday 13 June, 10:30am–4:00pm, for a free, fun-filled day celebrating nature and climate action.

Visitors can look forward to a full day of entertainment including the Big Bloomers Garden Show, a magical programme packed with wonder, laughter and hands-on fun for all ages. A true garden of delights, the show features an exciting mix of magic, mind reading and jaw‑dropping tricks, with captivating performances taking place throughout the day at 11am, 1.15pm and 3.30pm.

Young audiences and families can also enjoy the Junk Jodie Workshop, an imaginative and eco‑friendly experience combining storytelling and interactive activities using recycled materials. These engaging children’s workshops will run at 11.45am and 2.45pm, encouraging creativity while highlighting the importance of reuse and sustainability.

Adding to the day’s entertainment is the Falconry Dismay Theatre Show, a lively and hilarious educational performance starring an array of eccentric birds. This unique show blends comedy and learning, offering audiences an unforgettable insight into the world of birds of prey, with performances scheduled for 12.30pm and 2pm.

Alongside the live performances and workshops, visitors will also be able to explore a range of interactive and informative stalls throughout the event, providing opportunities to learn more about climate change, environmental issues and the positive actions we can all take to protect our planet.

Cllr Lynne Bowen, Leisure, Health and Community Engagement Portfolio Holder, commented: “Events like this are a fantastic way to bring families together while celebrating the rich natural environment we have here in Wyre. We’re delighted to be hosting this free community event at Wyre Estuary Country Park and would encourage people of all ages to come along, enjoy the day and discover how small actions can make a big difference”.
