Lighting up Wyre this Christmas
Christmas is nearly upon us and to kick off the celebrations we’ve put together a round-up of all the Christmas events taking place in Wyre this November and December.
From Santa's Grotto, to Christmas markets, pantomimes, light switch ons, Christmas fairs and much more, there's plenty of reasons to get in the festive mood!
Fleetwood's Marine Hall is hosting performances of Nativity! The Musical this November and a special pantomime 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' in December. It is also home to its annual Festive Fayre on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November. The hall will be filled with delicious festive food and drinks, Christmas crafts, gifts and more. To get you in the festive spirit you'll also find carol singing, an elf on the shelf trail and hilarious walkabout acts, including The Brussels' Sprouts.
Fleetwood town will light up on Saturday 25 November with a lantern parade and Christmas concert, kicking off at 4:30pm on Ash Street.
Fleetwood's festive AR trail will be available to enjoy from Saturday 25 November. Players can use their phone to follow the Christmas trail story by scanning the QR code on snowflake markers found at various locations across the town, launch a different AR challenge at each location and collect something at every stop. With an original story, bespoke illustration and a uniquely Fleetwood feel, it’s a great way to try something a little different this festive season.
Head down to Poulton town centre on Friday 1 December for the Christmas Festival. Join in the festive spirit with the annual lighting of the crib and tree. You'll also find market stalls, hot food, cold beer, live entertainment, children's rides and the big man himself! bring the whole family along for a great Christmas celebration.
Poulton's Community Festive Fayre is returning this December! Aimed at our more senior residents, come along and enjoy mince pies, chocolates and refreshments whilst playing a good game of Bingo, having a go at some Christmas crafts and winning a great prize from the raffle! There will also be information available about council services and local interest groups.
Over in Garstang The Big Switch On will take place outside Market Cross from 6pm on Monday 27 November. Enjoy some festive fun, Christmas carols and entertainment.
You''ll also have the chance to pick up some fantastic gifts at Garstang's Christmas Fair on Tuesday 28 November and at the Victorian Christmas Fesitval on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 December!
Don't miss Marsh Mill Christmas Tree Switch On. Taking place at Marsh Mill Village on Sunday 26 November, you'll be able to witness the lights switch-on at the giant Christmas tree, enjoy some festive entertainment, browse market stalls selling festive goodies and meet Santa himself!
