Four Wyre Beaches Earn Seaside Awards for 2026
Four of Wyre’s much-loved beaches will be flying Seaside Award flags this summer after being recognised among England’s best by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.
Jubilee Beach in Cleveleys, Marine Beach and Ferry Beach in Fleetwood and Rossall Beach have all secured the prestigious Seaside Award for 2026. The accolade highlights the high standards of quality, cleanliness and management across Wyre’s coastline, reinforcing its appeal as a leading seaside destination.
The announcement coincides with the 39th year of the international Blue Flag and Seaside Awards programme, which celebrates the very best beaches nationwide. Wyre’s continued success reflects a strong and ongoing commitment to caring for more than 18 kilometres of diverse coastline.
Councillor Roger Berry, Deputy Leader of Wyre Council and Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services and Community Safety, welcomed the recognition.
“Receiving Seaside Awards for four of our beaches is a tremendous honour and a testament to the dedication of our community and partners in keeping our coastline clean, safe and welcoming,” he said.
“With our Seaside Award flags flying high this summer, residents and visitors can feel confident they are enjoying beaches that meet nationally recognised standards.”
He also paid tribute to the people behind the achievement:
“This achievement is only possible through the hard work and passion of our staff, volunteers, local beach care groups and partner organisations. We thank them all for helping us protect and preserve our coastline for future generations.”
