Summer has arrived, and the kids are about to enjoy six weeks off school. If you're searching for holiday activities, look no further.

We've compiled a list of fantastic options to keep the little ones entertained all summer long. 

Visit Wyre’s beaches 

We're hoping for better weather during the school holidays, and if it brightens up, make sure to spend a day at one of Wyre’s stunning beaches. Wyre features over 16KM of beautiful coastline, stretching from Cleveleys to Fleetwood. Wyre is home to some of the most beautiful countryside in Lancashire. Bugs and beasties at Hawthorne Park 

If your kids love searching for wildlife, bring them to Hawthorne Park in Thornton on Thursday 25 July from 10:30 AM to noon. They can join Wyre’s rangers in exploring the park's diverse wildlife. This free event requires no booking – just show up and enjoy! 

Wanderland

Have you heard about Wanderland – Wyre's brand-new family festival? Presented by Wyre Council, Wanderland promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family to enjoy. Taking place on 27 July at Cottam Hall Playing Fields, Poulton-le-Fylde, you can join in the celebrations for Hey Duggee’s 10th Birthday and dance along to your favourite songs from the smash hit TV series at intervals throughout the day; enjoy a live stage performance from Mr Bloom, CBeebies favourite gardener; and join in with the live karaoke party with Massaoke – as seen at Glastonbury! 

Plus, lots more family fun for everyone across three fun filled zones. Explore Wyldwood, Dreamfields and the Fun Field for even more walkabout acts, accessible activities, selfie stations, rides, games, free gifts to create and take home. There's a mermaid to meet, giant inflatables to enjoy, a creepy crawlies roadshow, face painting, giant games to play and so much more!

Family Fun Day at Fleetwood Market 

If you’re looking for even more family fun this summer, then visit Fleetwood Market on Saturday 17 August from 10am-3pm for their Family Fun Day. Featuring a wide array of inflatable attractions, including Inflatable Penalty Shootout/Golf Chip, a 70-foot three-part energy inflatable assault course, inflatable bungee run, rainbow music disco dome bouncy castle with slide, bubbleologist and craft activity. 

Admission is free with any purchase from the market on the day. With every purchase you will be given an entry ticket. Simply hand these to the members of staff on the inflatables and get bouncing! 

Summer at Affinity Lancashire 

Whilst in Fleetwood be sure to head over to Affinity Lancashire. With a huge range of free family events over the whole summer holidays, there really is something for everyone!  

Visit their mini golf course, have fun with their seaside shows, be adventurous with their climbing wall, and be entertained by Billy Sparks - and that’s not all! With face painting, entertainers, bubble magic and more they’ve got it all going on! 

Nature prints art activity 

Join Wyre's rangers on Wednesday 31 July for a fun-filled crafty session! Take a leisurely walk along the riverside at Wyre Estuary Country Park, where children can gather natural items like leaves for their outdoor art activity. Perfect for kids aged 5-10, they'll get to create a unique lino print card to take home. Book your place today!

Fleetwood Festival of Transport 

Taking place on Sunday 21 July the transport festival, locally known as Tram Sunday, has been one of Fleetwood's major events for over three decades. Garstang Show 

The annual Garstang Show will be taking place on Saturday 3 August. This action-packed one-day event offers a chance to learn about, enjoy and celebrate the vital role of farming, food and the countryside in Garstang. 

Open from 8.30am, the show promises to be a brilliant family day out! Included are classes for farm animals including cattle, sheep and horses, horticulture classes, food and drink from local independent traders, craft stalls and trade stands showcasing fabulous local businesses and some great entertainment.  

Bubble n Bounce 

Guys Thatched Hamlet is once again hosting their Bubble n Bounce event, starting on 27 July and running daily until 26 August. For just £10 per child, enjoy a field filled with inflatables of all shapes and sizes for kids to bounce, squeeze, crawl, and slide through. The entry fee also includes various kiddie rides. It's a fantastic summer activity and a great way for kids to burn off some energy. 

Free craft sessions at Fleetwood Museum 

Fleetwood Museum is offering free craft sessions for children aged 4-11, accompanied by an adult, starting on Tuesday 23 July. Join them on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30-12:30 and 13:00-14:00. Fylde Coast Food and Drink Festival

To end a perfect summer, before waving the kids off at the school gate visit Marine Hall in Fleetwood on Sunday 1 September for their annual Food and drink Festival. Taking place from 10am until 4pm, you’ll find vendors showcasing the finest food and drink from across the region. There will be lots to try and buy including cakes and coffee, cheese and chutneys, pies and puddings, wines and beers and lots more. There will also be fun for all the family as well with free live entertainment. This event is a must for all food lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy a glorious day of indulgence by the seaside!
