Wyre Council is pleased to support Visit England’s launch of a new domestic marketing campaign designed to boost spring breaks and shine a national spotlight on England’s stunning North West coast.

The £1 million campaign, ‘All on England’s North West Coast’, goes live on 16 February and will showcase the rich variety of destinations, attractions and experiences available across the region. Its aim is to inspire more residents and visitors to enjoy a coastal break closer to home and to help strengthen the local visitor economy.

Wyre’s coast stretches from the expansive, sandy beach at Cleveleys, to the historic seafront and traditional promenades of Fleetwood, through to the peaceful shoreline and village charm of Knott End.

Minister for Tourism, Stephanie Peacock MP, said:

“The government is committed to championing our regions and reminding people of the great destinations right on their doorstep.
We are proud to shine a light on the stunning coastal resorts of the North West. These places have their own rich story to tell and deserve the jobs, investment and pride that a thriving visitor economy brings.”

VisitEngland Director Andrew Stokes added:

“With warmer weather on the horizon, now is the perfect time to book a domestic break on England’s North West coast, boosting the economy and supporting local communities. Whether you’re looking to reconnect with nature or revisit childhood memories, the coast has it all — from theme parks and fish and chips on the pier to dune walks, hidden art and restorative retreats.”

Marketing Lancashire Marketing & Partnerships Director Vikki Harris said:

"Lancashire is blessed with 137miles of coastline, offering visitors an incredible mix of natural wildlife and biodiversity, cultural heritage and quirky tales, landmarks and historic gems.

"We have some of the country's favourite seaside resorts from the thrilling seaside superstar, Blackpool and the genteel delights of Lytham St Annes, to historic towns and villages such as Fleetwood, Heysham, Morecambe and Silverdale, each with their own unique story to tell

"Lancashire's coast is a haven for families, providing a healthy mix of outdoor attractions and seaside fun; it also provides coastal experiences and adventures for those who want to be more active, to explore and to recharge their batteries.

"We are proud to be part of All on The North West Coast and look forward to working with our partners to reveal Lancashire's coast of contrasts in a new light, to new and returning visitors."

Wyre Council is proud that the campaign celebrates coastal Lancashire, which includes some of the county’s most distinctive and characterful seaside locations. As part of All on England’s North West Coast, Wyre Council will work closely with Marketing Lancashire to champion the area and ensure Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Knott End are strongly represented throughout the campaign’s activity.

Wyre Council is encouraging local tourism businesses, attractions, hospitality providers and accommodation owners across Fleetwood, Cleveleys and Knott End to get involved in the campaign and make the most of the national exposure it will bring. VisitEngland has created a dedicated bank of marketing assets, imagery and templates that businesses can use to promote their own coastal offers and experiences. By joining the campaign, Wyre businesses can help showcase the vibrancy and diversity of our coastline, attract new visitors and strengthen the local visitor economy. Resources can be accessed via Visit England’s campaign hub

Wyre Council looks forward to working with Marketing Lancashire and campaign partners to showcase the unique character and appeal of Wyre’s coastal towns and villages.
