King George's playing field

Poulton-le-Fylde

If you're visiting the beautiful little town of Poulton for a bit of shopping, or to eat or drink in one of Poulton's many cafes, tea rooms, pubs or restaurants, then be sure to visit one of Poulton's many parks. They offer peace and tranquility, and are great places to take the kids to burn off some energy or enjoy a relaxing stroll. 

As well as Jean Stansfield (Vicarage) park, Poulton is home to: 

Tithebarn Park - Enjoy the green space with a natural feel which is right on the edge of the town centre. Alongside its woodlands, meandering stream and open areas of grass there is a children’s play area and plenty of benches to take a comfortable seat.

Carrabine Park - This lovely park has a play area for children to enjoy and is laid to grass with trees and areas of ornamental shrubs.

Cottam Hall playing fields - Home to Poulton's annual bonfire and fireworks display the fields have lots to offer through the year, with the children's play area, a community garden, and walking areas.

Farnham Way - This park has a popular children’s play area, mature trees, and areas to walk or sit and relax.

Civic Centre playing fields - The playing fields offer a large open grass area surrounded by trees for walking and sport.

Thornton-Cleveleys

This bustling, traditional seaside resort is a popular place for visitors and as well as Wyre Estuary Country park, it's also home to many other parks and picnic sites:

Jubilee Gardens - Discover Cleveleys’ seafront park and its distinctive obelisk. Enjoy the open field for sport or walking your dog, as well as the multi-use games court, skate park, youth shelter and children’s play area.

Hawthorne Park - Hawthorne Park has something for every age group with its play area for young children, wetland habitat with quiet places to sit, activity equipment for young people, and sports court.

King George's playing field - Close to Marsh Mill, King George's playing field offer a large space for a nice walk or a good run.

North Drive Park - This popular park offers a children’s play area, kick-about areas and footpaths across the site to enjoy. Talk a stroll around the grass areas, past the woodland plantations or take a seat and relax.

Fleetwood

The biggest town in Wyre is home to breath-taking natural landscapes and coastline, and is home to some of Wyre's most popular parks and picnic sites including Marine Gardens, Memorial Park and The Mount. Other parks you can find in Fleetwood are:

King George V playing field - When visiting this lovely park you'll find sports pitches, open mown grass and outdoor gym equipment, a great place to take the kids to burn off some of their energy and enjoy the fresh coastal air.

Euston Gardens - Visit this peaceful park near the Lower Lighthouse and iconic North Euston Hotel to admire the view and learn a little of Fleetwood’s past.

Garstang and rural Wyre

The town of Garstang is a true countryside gem! Located at the foot of the Trough of Bowland, Garstang has plenty of stunning walks all around the town, with the River Wyre running alongside, it makes for a peaceful walking place for all ages.
