The River Wyre, which flows into the Irish Sea at Fleetwood, is approximately 28 miles (45 km) in length and is a biological heritage site. There is a marina at the mouth of the river in Affinity Outlet Lancashire for mooring any yachts that come in from the sea.
Wyre Estuary Country Park is situated on the banks of the River Wyre estuary. It has a network of accessible paths provide walking, cycling and horse riding routes where you can enjoy the breathtaking views over the water. During the summer months the river plays host to a variety of water sports.
There’s also the Lancaster canal, where you can take a trip on the waterbus in the summer months.
